For years, Paul’s relationship with weight loss was a cycle of hope and frustration. He had tried almost every diet trend that came his way, each one offering quick results and easy wins. But none of them lasted.
‘For seven years I battled the ups and downs,’ he recalls. ‘Every fad diet promised something new but the results never stuck. I would lose a bit, gain it back and end up feeling worse each time.’
Over time, the physical impact began to take its toll. Clothes stopped fitting, movement became harder and constant back pain made even simple tasks uncomfortable. ‘I was getting fed up,’ he says. ‘It was not just about the way I looked. I did not feel like myself anymore.’
That frustration became a turning point. Paul realised he needed to stop chasing quick fixes and start building something that would last. That is when he found CheqUp.
Finding a new rhythm
Five months ago, Paul joined CheqUp and began a new approach to weight management, supported by his Health Coach and guided by the CheqUp programme. For the first time he had a structure that made sense, focused on long term health not short term results.
‘I had made my mind up to commit,’ he says. ‘I wanted to do this properly. I built a routine that worked for me, meal planning, tracking my food and getting to the gym regularly.’
Those first few weeks brought small adjustments but Paul quickly settled into his new rhythm. ‘I did not have many side effects, just the odd stomach ache here and there,’ he says. ‘But nothing that stopped me from carrying on. Now I do not get any at all.’
With each week the changes started to add up. Not just on the scales but in how he felt, stronger, more energetic and in control.
This is not a quick fix,’ he says. ‘It is a new way of living. And it is worth it.
