Why do we ask for ID and photos as proof of weight before prescribing weight loss medication?

We understand that providing ID and a photo for proof of weight may make you feel uncomfortable. However, this is a crucial part of the prescribing process from all reputable pharmacies to ensure your safety.

Why do we ask for ID and photos as proof of weight for weight loss medication?

When our clinicians review your request for weight loss medication they do three things:

1. Review the answers to your online consultation including BMI and medical history

2. Verify that the person requesting medication has the qualifying weight - we do this through photo upload

3. Verify that the person requesting medication is the same person in the photos - this to ensure that medication is issued to the correct person

By providing a current photo for proof of weight, you help us confirm that the weight data supplied is accurate and that the medication will be safe for you to take at the recommended dose.

Your images are held in our secure portal and are only available to our medical team for prescribing purposes only. They will never be shared or used for any other purpose.

Specialist ID verification company

We work with a specialist third-party to capture and verify your ID. This company is called Persona and they are specialists in the safe collection and storage of ID documents. The process is 100% confidential and fully secure.

Securing medication for those most in need

We believe strongly that weight loss medication should only be available to people with a qualifying BMI - the request for photos and ID provides an extra check to ensure we’re prescribing responsibly and within the NHS guidelines.

Peace of mind

We want you to be confident that your weight loss partner has your safety as the number one priority and you feel confident in the care you’re receiving.

We hope this gives you reassurance as to why we ask for ID and photos as proof of weight for weight loss medication. However, if you'd like further information please email us at help@chequp.com
